Anxious Attachment Style and Money

Could your anxious attachment style be holding you back from abundance?

The attachment theory has been around since the fifties but social media has brought it to our attention. I recently discovered that one of my attachment styles (anxious attachment) was impacting my relationship with money. It can leave you feeling helpless and behaving in ways that are not aligned with the greatest good and your well-being. How we perceive money could be related to how much abundance comes into our life.

The good news is that you can do the work to change these subconscious patterns and change your relationship with money which will unclog that abundance funnel.

The fascinating connection between anxious attachment style and our relationship with money.

What is Anxious Attachment?

Anxious attachment refers to a tendency to seek excessive reassurance, fear rejection or abandonment, and have a heightened need for closeness and attention in relationships. But did you know it can impact our financial behaviors too?

In this episode, we will explore…

> Financial Dependence:

Anxiously attached individuals often seek financial security by relying heavily on others, like partners or family. Taking charge of our financial lives can help us foster independence and empowerment.

> Emotional Spending:

Emotional distress can sometimes lead to impulsive spending as a way to seek temporary relief or validation. Let’s explore healthier coping mechanisms to nurture our emotional well-being.

>  Seeking Validation:

We often find ourselves seeking external validation for our financial decisions. Remember, trust your instincts and cultivate self-confidence in your money choices. You got this!

> Overcoming Financial Anxiety:

Anxious individuals may experience an intensified fear of financial instability. Let’s explore strategies to manage this anxiety, like creating realistic budgets and seeking professional guidance.

> Unhealthy Power Dynamics:

In relationships, anxiously attached individuals might tolerate financial mistreatment due to their fear of abandonment. Let’s focus on fostering equality and open communication when it comes to money matters.

Understanding our attachment style can help us develop healthier financial habits and cultivate financial security. Let’s work towards embracing financial empowerment, independence, and emotional well-being!

Ep 818 The “Everything Is Going to Shit” Crash Out: How I Handle It in Real Time

What do you do when everything seems to go wrong at once, and you have absolutely no idea how it’s all going to work out?

I was supposed to release a completely different episode today. It was already recorded. Everything was planned. Then I woke up to some major fucking bullshit…followed almost immediately by more bullshit.

So I scrapped the plan and hit record while I was still in it.

This isn’t an episode about resilience from the other side, when everything has worked out and you can package the experience into a beautiful lesson. I’m taking you behind the scenes of how I handle stress, uncertainty, business setbacks and unexpected life problems in REAL TIME, before I know the outcome.

Because when multiple things go wrong at once, your brain loves to take individual problems and turn them into one giant story:
Everything is falling apart.

Ep 816 Why Do You Procrastinate When You KNOW What to Do?

You know you need to post the content, talk about your offer, hire the help, make the investment, have the conversation, or finally start the thing you’ve been thinking about for months.

You’ve researched it. Planned it. Journaled about it. Asked ChatGPT 47 different ways. And you’re still not taking action.

This isn’t a motivation or discipline problem. And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re lazy.

Procrastination and self-sabotage can be automatic stress responses designed to protect you from what taking action might expose you to: failure, rejection, judgment, uncertainty, visibility, and even success.
